Description
In one of the most remote places in Big Bend National Park, Mariscal Canyon cuts through the ancient rock as the Rio Grande flows eastward towards the Gulf of Mexico. Serving as a boundary between Texas and Mexico, this river seems small from the cliffs high above. There is no trail to this location - only cairns to mark the path every 20 yards or so. Finding the way up isn’t particularly difficult, but returning in the dark can be a bit challenging. But the views are breathtaking.
