Description
From the top of the Lost Mine Trail at Big Bend National Park, the sun sets over the distant Chisos Mountains. In the foreground, Juniper Canyon opens to the south, and further out is Mexico. This remote region of Texas is one of the most beautiful and rugged landscapes in the state, and it is well worth the effort to visit.
This panorama was taken in late March as the sun set across the valley. I lingered on this night to photograph the full moon lighting up the canyon, so the walk back in the dark only intensified what was an amazing evening.
